Shortly after publishing my list of First World War Canadian Soldier Memoirs I was contacted by a reader regarding a memoir written by her grandfather in the 1930’s. Charles Henry Savage served in the 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles and the detailed account of his experience has been published on The Canadian Letters & Images Project.
The Canadian Letters and Images Project is a fantastic resource for researchers and includes more than a dozen soldier memoirs all of which have been added to my list. Their excellent Collection Search function makes it easy to identify First World War memoirs amongst the thousands of items in their database. In addition to this link my Memoirs page includes individual links (as of April 28, 2018) to each soldier’s overview page, their memoirs and notes on the units in which they served.
I very much appreciate this being brought to my attention and I encourage you to contact me if you are aware of other digitized memoirs not included in my list.
