“Epsom, Nov 23/18
Dear Mother
Just a few lines to let you know that every thing is fine and we are all very glad that the war is over after 4 years of hard work. No doubt there was great excitement in Canada when the news arrived. The next thing is when are they going to send us home. No doubt it will take quite a while to get us all back but any way I expect to get back before Easter.
Love to all,
Alex”
