Vol. 1 No. 9 of “Bristol & the War”, the third issue which I’ve scanned and uploaded to Flickr, features a great cover photo of a snowman in Essex named “Kaiser Bill”. The magazine includes a review of Mr. Hilaire Belloc’s war lectures in Bristol, a long article on the Cossham Memorial Hospital, and a number of photographs of various regiments in and around Bristol. The Bristolians on Active Service section lists a number of individual soldiers, some of whom are pictured as well. Those mentioned are:
Pte S. H. Bishop (16th Sec, B Coy, 5th Batt A.I.F), Sig. W. A. Dawes (RNVR), Pte H. G. Dolphin (3rd Welsh Regiment), Sgt. H. Beard & Lance Sgt Arthur Titcombe (1st East Surrey Regiment), Pte T. Marsh (Somerset Light Infantry), Pte R. Harding (Canadian Reserve), Pte J. Harding (138th Batt RFA), Pte F. Harding (RFA), Pte S. J. Harding (1st Grenadier Guards), Pte W. H. Harding (3rd Dragoon Guards), Pte T. Harding (7th Div Cyclist Company), Pte Stenner (12th Field Ambulance, RAMC).
