This Christmas card was sent from Driver John Fleming of the Canadian Army Service Corps to his wife back in Saskatchewan. The couple were both from Scotland but emigrated to Canada separately prior to the war. John married Maggie Dalrymple Goldie in Moose Jaw in 1912 but the family settled in Rouleau. They had two children although tragically daughter Edith died age 2 years 8 months and while John was serving in France. The couple eventually moved to British Columbia and settled in New Westminster. They both died in 1965, Maggie on July 2nd and John on November 1st.
John Fleming spent three Christmases in Europe and at this point I’m unable to determine when this Christmas card was sent.
